Winter sports enthusiasts will be thrilled that the glacier in Tignes is accessible as early as autumn time – and is one of the first to open. As of October, the snowy slopes are all yours! Easily accessible via the Perce-Neige funicular, the Grande Motte glacier is the highest point in Tignes’ ski area.
Treat yourself to a spring holiday in the mountains in Tignes – Val d’Isère, as it opens until April. Offering warmer temperatures, bright sunshine and softer snow, you will love Tignes in the spring time. Carry on skiing across the entire domain all the way through to Easter. Whether blue, red or black, you can start whooshing down the high glacier slopes in Tignes as soon as it opens. With its ideal snow coverage and sun exposure, the domain in yours to enjoy until April, with snow 6,890 ft. up the mountain side.
Skiing is summer is also an option along more than 12 miles of high slopes, set between 11,300 and 10,000 feet, perched up on the glacier in Tignes. Ski alongside national and local teams, there to practice. Try some cross-country skiing or simply laze out on the terrace with a view over the snow-capped peaks.
