In Tignes, we love sharing our passion for skiing. Since there is no right age to start, everything is in place so that everyone from your little ones, to your best childhood friend (who is no longer a child…) can get started in complete safety, with maximum pleasure.
This is it, it's your winter! This year you will no longer remain at the bottom of the ski slopes, you are going to fully experience your winter holidays in Tignes and discover the joys of riding.
Starting a new activity does come without a few nerves, for sure, but that is totally fine. In Tignes everybody is welcome. If you have chosen our resort as your starting point, we can assure you that you’ve made the right choice. With our vast ski domain, our beginner areas and all our thoughtful professionals, you will find all you need to learn how to ski in the best conditions and regardless of your age.
This way to make your first turns!
The ski lifts may not be open, but we still have many ideas for you to keep exploring the mountains! What if this winter was the right time to try snowshoeing?
Get rid of the fuddy-duddy image you might have of this activity. You can easily tailor your approach depending on your needs: from a cultural and leisurely walk with all the family, to a sporty hike for the more adventurous.
Protecting the environment may sometimes seem abstract when we don’t live close to nature. Holidays, which are essential to our well-being, are also a great opportunity to increase our awareness regarding the need to protect breathtaking landscapes that we are drawn to (even more so in a protected area like the Vanoise National Park). But where to start?
Are you looking for adventure and want to challenge yourself with friends or family? Why not go down an incredible sequence of 4 red runs, diversify your technique on an expert bordercross or put skins on your skis to test your cardio? In Tignes, there is no shortage of challenges!
Like all disciplines, freestyle has its jargon... which is enough to puzzle neophytes! Don't you know whether you should be happy that your best friend has "landed their first 720 air"? When you hear “table” and “reception”, do you think more of a banquet than a snow obstacle? Do you understand absolutely nothing about the commentators of the Olympic Games who rave about the slopestyle, big air or halfpipe events? Here are 10 basic words to remember to be part of the community of freestyle fans!
